Richard J. Fay, M.S., P.E.

President / Mechanical Engineering

Richard Fay is the founder of Fay Engineering and has been the driving force behind the company for more than 40 years. He has extensive experience in vehicle dynamics, accident reconstruction, computer simulation and visualization. Mr. Fay holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering and is a Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Colorado and Nebraska.

He is the author of many scientific papers in the field of vehicle dynamics, computer simulation and accident reconstruction. He draws the communication skills gained as an engineering educator as well as 2D and 3D graphics to aid in the presentation of complex analytical results to non-technical audiences. Mr. Fay has been instrumental in developing methods for incorporating exhibits into the paperless courtroom. Mr. Fay was prominent in the evaluation of the application of accident reconstruction and simulation software. He has served clients across the US, including Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico as well as Canada and Mexico.
