Mechanical Engineer - Automotive

Fay Engineering is looking for a Mechanical Engineer experienced in land-based vehicle systems design, application or maintenance. Must have a B.S. M.E. (advanced degree and P.E. desirable). Automotive/vehicular design experience a plus. This job involves accident reconstruction, forensic engineering, and expert testimony.

The candidate must have good verbal and written communication skills, and previous experience in deposition and trial testimony is helpful. The candidate must be able to perform field assignments involving extensive walking, some lifting and carrying equipment. The ability to think on your feet is a must.

Structural or Architectural Engineer

Candidate will consult with insurance adjusters, attorneys, contractors and building owners on various litigation, claims, damage evaluations and remediation. Types of assignments include determining the cause of loss, extent and nature of damage, evaluating code issues and providing structural or architectural repair recommendations.

A wide variety of cases involving fires, floods, snow, wind, seismic, vehicle impact, construction defects and others will be encountered by a structural engineering candidate.

A wide variety of cases involving roofing, decks, window and exterior building envelope cladding leak detection, plumbing, fire sprinklers, various types of water damage and others will be encountered by an architectural candidate.

Required/Must Have Skills/Experiences:
• Bachelors degree in Architectural, Civil or Structural Engineering
• Minimum 10 yrs of relevant architectural or structural engineering design and or forensic experience
• Licensed Professional Engineer or Architect in the state of Colorado
• Technical competence
• Customer service and client contact competence
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to provide clear, accurate and credible testimony in a deposition or court room environment
• Capable of managing multiple tasks on a timely basis
• Ability to tackle assignments that require gaining knowledge in new areas
• Must be honest and ethical
• Ability to work independently (self starter)
• Ability to perform field work including investigating fire and flood scenes, attics and crawl spaces
• Availability to travel

Desired Skills/Experiences or Nice to Haves:
• Masters degree in Architectural, Civil or Structural Engineering
• Auto Cad skill (or the desire to learn)
