
John D. Scott, P.E., ACTAR
Mechanical Engineer
John Scott is a hands-on engineer with experience in the maintenance and repair of passenger and commercial vehicles including concrete mixers and heavy equipment. He also has a background in product design and manufacturing. John has a degree in Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and is a Professional Engineer licenced in Colorado and Wyoming Since 1996, he has held full accreditation as an accident reconstructionist through ACTAR. He has completed dozens of specialized training courses in investigation, reconstruction, vehicle dynamics, commercial vehicles, motorcycles and brake systems. He is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and has been published in the Accident Reconstruction Journal, through SAE, as well as ATTCE and DEKRA in Europe.
Engaged in areas of forensic engineering since 1995, he has used his academic and practical knowledge to reconstruct over 700 vehicular accidents in the US and South America. He has testified numerous times in civil and criminal litigations and has provided accident reconstruction training in a variety of subject areas to attorneys, paralegals, claims associations, municipalities, motor carriers and fleet safety managers.
